[Cross Country] Tigers finish strong in Mike & Mary Kay Johnson Invitational

After a week of brutal heat and little to no wind, Georgetown College cross country coach Lucas Garnett was pleased with Saturday morning's conditions for the Mike and Mary Kay Johnson Invitational in Berea, Ky.

It was the second straight race on this course in the past three weeks and the Tigers on both sides looked strong. The women finished fourth out of 10 teams, but only second to one other NAIA school – Mid-South Conference foe Campbellsville. The men were fifth of 10, but also just second to Campbellsville.

"I'm pleased with the progress they have made the past few weeks, especially considering the heat this past week," Garnett said. "Both the men and women had an average team time around 60 seconds faster than this same meet last season.
