[Track & Field] Tigers tally strong start to outdoor seasonPublished by
Georgetown College men's and women's outdoor track and field teams used the momentum they had going from indoor to open the outdoor season with a bang. The men's team finished second out of 11 while the women were fourth out of 11 – each competition was comprised mostly of NCAA programs at the Murray State Margaret Simmons Invitational. Emma Bianchi got the national qualifiers going early as she has locked in her third trip – second in outdoor – in high jump. The sophomore cleared 1.65 meters for second place and the B standard. There were four top spot winners in the one-day meet. Cody Cooper threw the javelin 42.02 meters for first against seven other competitors – four NCAA athletes.
