[Track & Field] Mollak, Bianchi prep for national competitionPublished by
Maggie Mollak and Emma Bianchi are blazing new trails for Georgetown College track and field. These Tigers are the first to ever compete at the national championship in shot put and high jump. Mollak qualified for the 2018 NAIA National Track and Field Meet with her throw of 13.33 meters – a new school record and national standard mark – at the UK Outdoor Relays. Bianchi qualified in high jump with a 1.65 meter clear (also a school record and national standard) during a meet at Lindsey Wilson College. She later broke that record with a 1.66 clear in the Mid-South Conference Championship. "This is the first male or female to compete in these events at nationals, pretty impressive for a junior and a freshman to be doing big things," said GC coach Lucas Garnett.
