[Cross Country] Cross country teams find dancing rewarding

Teams volunteer at Blessing Ball

Georgetown College men's and women's cross country runners have proven over the years they are fleet of foot, but on Sept. 12 the put dancing shoes on and demonstrated their ability to cut a rug.

First-year coach Lucas Garnett linked up with Sammy Harris, lead minister at Leesburg Christian Church, this past summer. Sally Levi and Sarah Welsh organize an annual Blessing Ball – a dance for special needs adults in Harrison, Scott, Bourbon and Pendleton counties, while Harris oversees the evening as head minister. This is similar to the Jesus Prom held annually in the spring by Southland Christian Church for the Lexington community. This year's theme was Boots and Bling!
