[Track & Field] Tigers break several school records at UC Invitational

Comments

Georgetown College men's and women's track and field got back to competition Friday and Saturday against several Mid-South Conference foes after spending this past weekend challenging a large group of NCAA Division I and II opponents.

"We need tests like that and the meet at Bellarmine or Louisville always gives us those opportunities," said GC coach Todd McDaniel. "Our athletes know that every event is more about testing themselves and challenging themselves than where they place. If we keep improving, when placement counts we will be where we need to be."

Overall the women finished seventh, but only host University of the Cumberlands finished higher out of all the MSC schools. Georgetown scored 48.5, while the Patriots 54.5 put them in sixth. Lindsey Wilson College took 10th and Campbellsville University was 11th.

On the men's side, the Tigers finished 11th with 32 points, beating St. Catharine College, Lindsey Wilson and University of Pikeville. Cumberlands finished second on its own track and Campbellsville just edged GC for 10th with 34 points.
